Milo Loaf with Cranberries, Raisins and Chia Seeds Using Philips HD9045 Breadmaker


I was a little bored with my easy but predictable milk bread (recipe here) and decided to rummage through the kitchen to see what I could experiment with for a new flavour of breakfast loaf.

Having found a tin of milo, dried cranberries, raisins and chia seeds, I came up with my milo loaf. Soft and fluffy. Wheeee! We loved how the loaf was also nutrition packed. A recipe for keeping and sharing :) 

Nevertheless, if you are big on taste and are looking for a chocolatey loaf, the cranberries and raisin can overpower the taste of the milo powder. Hence, I will recommend that you can add chocolate chips and nuts instead. And of course, use the best chocolate powder that you have too!

Note: I use the Philips Breadmaker HD9045. Please adapt to suit your machine if you are using other brands :)



Milo Loaf with Cranberries, Raisins and Chia Seeds
Yields 750g loaf

Ingredients
(A)
260g milk
40g butter
5g salt
25g sugar
5 tsp milo powder
300g bread flour
50g top flour
1 tsp yeast

(B)
4 tbs oats (I use Quacker instant oats)

(C)
cranberries
raisins
chocolate chips, etc

Directions
1) Put all ingredients in (A) into the baking tin, in the above sequence.

2) Use Setting 2 (Rapid white bread mode), Light crust, 750g. 

3) After knead 1, you will notice that the dough will still be a little wet. Add in the oats.

4) A beep sound will be heard midway around knead 2. Drop in your preferred dried fruits and nuts, i.e. ingredients (C) at this point.

5) After 2h 45min, the milo loaf will be ready. Enjoy!
