[Review] Festive Buffet and Christmas Luncheon 2016 at 10 @ Claymore (Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore)
If you are craving for a delightful festive dinner this Christmas season that will leave you with a feeling of splendour and immense satisfaction, a good choice would be at Pan Pacific Orchard's 10 @ Claymore which was recently awarded The Best Buffet at the Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) Epicurean Award. Nestled in the heart of Orchard Road in close proximity to the 2 Michelin star Les Amis yet away from the busy main street along the shopping malls, lies this unassuming, unpretentious restaurant that serves wonderful, hearty epicurean buffets all year round.
1) Festive Lunch/ Dinner Buffet
Specially for this festive season, the team of chefs have certainly outdone their previous effort and come up with another spread of gastronomic delights that is guaranteed to suit different palates.
Whether you desire to have some Penang favourites such as Prawn Mee, Chef Oh's Char Kway Teow and Kueh Pai Tee, or you wish to bask in the Christmas season and eat your heart out on the Honey Baked Ham, Roasted Turkey with Cranberry Chutney and succulent Blackmore Wagyu, everyone is in for a treat without having to break the bank to enjoy some quality food together with their loved ones.
This time of the year, apart from its usual array of Freshly-shucked Oysters originating from different nationalities such as Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, Fresh Lobsters are served as well as Artisan Cheeses. My favourite among the cheeses are the Wensleydale Cranberries and the blue cheese, both of which are yummy and irresistable. If you are more adventurous, you could try the chilli and lime cheese, which is also a pretty unique offering.
Her favourite were the (surprisingly!) succulent turkey and irresistible Lemongrass and Ginger Ice Cream. For me, the main attractions were the juicy, succulent, pump, creamy oysters (as usual) and Herb-Crusted Lamb Rack. The soft and supple texture of the meat synergized well with its natural flavours, bearing testimony to the culinary flair and expertise of the chefs.

2) Christmas Luncheon
If you prefer an intimate affair on Christmas Day, a more private family Christmas Luncheon is available at $888++/ table of 10 pax ($88++/ additional adult). We say it's private as we heard that not many tables will be available at the ballroom.
A full menu consisting salads, cheeses, soups, festive carvings, desserts, fruits, coffee and TWG tea are available. A special section for children (or rather, they call that Young Adult's section) will be available too - consisting Pizzas, Mini Beef Burgers, Mac & Cheese etc.

From amongst the adult's menu are main courses such as the Traditional Roasted Turkey, Honey Baked Ham, Portuguese Linguica Sausage. I would highly recommend the succulent Char-grilled Angus Prime Rib - charred on the outside and soft inside, served with rosemary and heirloom tomatoes. I am sure you will not be disappointed.
She loved the Salmon Wellington which is also another interesting offering. Its premise is based on having a crusty outer layer with soft salmon on the inside, very much like a beef wellington but with salmon on the inside. The crusty layer of the salmon provides a stark contrast to the concomitant softness.
For desserts, the Yule Log Cake was, for the lack of a better description, the icing on the cake. We both loved the smooth decadent chocolate bursting with every bite in our mouths. Be enthralled by the delicate finely crafted selection of masterpieces by 10 @ Claymore's award-winning pastry chef! Kapiti's New Zealand premium ice cream will be available too.
The festive season is never complete without a hearty meal with close family and friends. Do reserve early to avoid disappointment!
