Tahini Dip / Sauce

Tahini dip - perfect dip for falafels, pita bread, crackers etc. It goes well as a spread for chapathis too. Such a humble dip with just minimal ingredients and little effort that goes into it, is a must try. 












You could make it in a jiffy that you would never feel lazy to start making it. And before you know it the dip would be ready.








Ingredients
  1. 1/2 cup of white sesame seeds
  2. 3-4 cloves of garlic
  3. 2 tbsp + 1 tsp of olive oil
  4. 1 tbsp of lemon juice
  5. 1/2 cup of thick curd
  6. Salt to taste
  7. A pinch of red chilly powder for garnishing
Method
  • In a pan, dry roast the sesame seeds on medium heat, untill they are slightly brown and crisp. Do not burn them. Let the sesame seeds cool down.
  • Transfer it into a blender bowl. Add 2 tbsp of olive oil and garlic. Blend it into a smooth paste. Transfer the mixture into a bowl.
  • Now add the thick yogurt, lemon juice and salt. Mix it untill everything gets incorporated well. 
  • Top it with 1 tsp of olive oil. Sprinkle some red chilly powder for garnishing. Serve it with some hot falafel.
Tips
  1. Be careful to not burn the sesame seeds while roasting, else it would leave a burnt taste to the dip.
  2. You could sprinkle some sesame seeds as garnishing too.
  3. I have used coriander leaves for photography purpose only.
